Holiday windows decorations and treatments come in so many sizes, textures, and shapes that options are literally endless! Every Christmas, we see many unexpected debuts and preppy power couples that are literally smashing and provide a modern flair while keeping the warm of the festive season. All feather compositions, dangling ornaments that add just the right amount of pop, and anything your imagination can give birth to welcome guests and bring everybody in the house in the holiday spirit! Below are some of the most eye-catching window decorating ideas that create a holiday view and bring smiles to everyone’s faces! Enjoy!

1. Vintage Linens

Truth is that although vintage linens are too delicate to use for their intended purposes, they make excellent window decorations during Xmas! Let them shine as cheery décor this holidays. Hang your favorites, be it fun towels, cute aprons, or any other, as window treatments and impress the crowds with something definitely out-of-the-box! Just make sure you don’t hang any special linens in windows with direct sunlight as they may fade.

2. Let is Snow!

Make your own winter flurries with a beautiful display of snowflakes by using suction cups to hand decorative snowflakes from glass or simply hang them from window muntins. If you want a more whimsical look, try to deviate from white and have colorful snowflakes. Of course, an evergreen swag can complete this lovely winter scene. Hang it across the top of the window or let your creativity run wild! Speaking of creativity, you can also make garland paper snowflakes, which are easy to craft and will look awesome when you decorate them with glittering paint. Bind your paper snowflakes with ribbons and threads with different lengths so they hang at different heights. To avoid the tape to remain on the window after the holiday season when you remove the decorations, attach the ribbons and threads above the window.

Feel up to creating a stunning effect? Hang classic Xmas wreaths in multiples (say, three!). This is imperative if you have windows with peculiar shapes (i.e. bay windows, arch windows, etc.) or windows with a wide expanse in general.

Alternatively, you can make the wreaths seem like floating in midair by tucking the end of the ribbons behind your drapes or curtains.

Send sparkles throughout the room and dazzle everybody with clear glass ornaments hung in your windows. Bring some Christmas shine by stringing ornaments onto a length of a ribbon. Use a thumbtack or small nail to attach the end of the ribbon to the area above the window frame and hang a bauble that will serve as your focal point. Transform your window into an advent calendar this year and start the countdown to Xmas! Take small bags with a little note or gift in each one and number them. Then, hang them across a window (you can use a clothesline and clothespins). Every day, go back to your window to enjoy a mini treat. Just make sure you don’t get carried away and only open the corresponding bag each day! This is so cool, especially if you have kids! Tip: You can make different packages for every child. Just make a different clothesline for each!

10. Row of Wreaths!

You can’t imagine the festive effect you will bring into your home if you just suspend a row of wreaths from the curtain rod of sliding glass doors or windows. You can also buy artificial hypericum berries from your local crafts store to add a Christmas-red color. Wire them onto grapevine wreaths and voila!
