I would really like to re-upholster my sofa, do you offer upholstering service?
We offer a wide variety of upholstering services. From headboards, arm chairs, bergere chairs, to almost any piece of furniture. We have over 100,000 different upholstery fabrics to choose from.
What furniture is worth to re-upholster?
If you have old furniture that is damaged, but it is real wood and good construction and you want the furniture to stay in your family for years to come, then reupholstery is definitely what you are looking for. Our professional furniture upholsterers in Mississauga, Oakville and the GTA can replace foam, fabric, and add some details to make it more fashionable. We are able to re-upholster furniture and in many cases make it look better than it did when it was brand new.
If you recently purchased a new leather sofa for a very good price on sale and it’s already cracked and worn out, re-upholstery will likely cost you less then you bought it for. In this case, you have to decide if this piece of furniture is worth to redo or if it will be cheaper to buy new furniture to use for some time until it is worn out and ripped again.
Can you give me a quote for re-upholstery and how many yards of fabric I need to buy?
Each piece of furniture is unique and has individual details (for instance, tufting, or piping, skirt, etc.). The price of upholstery and yardage also depends on fabric that you choose (is it a patterned fabric or not, and what is the cost of it).
Do you re-upholster recliner chairs?
There are many upholstery companies who don’t want to deal with this kind of furniture because of its mechanism. We are different. Our upholsterers have a lot of experience and are able to do any upholstery job. Of course, the price for recliner chairs will be higher then regular furniture, but it is worth it!
My sofa is tufted, but I want to redo it and give it a more contemporary look. What would you recommend?
Our suggestion is to redo it in a plain fabric, which will give it a transitional look. Our workroom can add or remove tufting on your request.
Which fabric can I use for my sofa in a family room?
Any fabric that has more than 25,000 double rubs will be perfect for the busy room.
What reupholstery fabric is the most durable for a sofa in a home with pets?
We offer many different types of furniture upholster fabrics suitable for the furniture of pet owners, to name a few; aqua clean extreme line offers scratch resistant fabrics, which are very easy to clean with just water. Other great options include FibreGuard and Revolution fabrics which provide top quality and durability with stain resistance and light fastness. Another pet friendly fabric is called Crypton; the ultimate performance fabric provides protection from permanent stains, moisture, mildew, bacteria and odour.
What does “double rubs” mean on the fabric label?
Double rubs term is a measurement of fabric abrasion resistance derived through a mechanized test called the Wyzenbeek Test which tests the fabric until it is worn down. The higher the count the more durable fabric.
Commercial grade fabrics are usually rated at 100,000 and up. Residential fabrics for every day use are usually 25,000 and up. If your upholstery fabric is below 20,000 it is designed for light use and will not sustain everyday wear, especially if you have pets sleeping on your upholstered furniture.
Do you pickup and deliver furniture for upholstery in Toronto?
We do pick and delivery with $95.00 charge each way anywhere in the Toronto area.
Do you offer furniture removal service from my location in Toronto?
Yes, pick up and delivery is mandatory for all sofas and loveseats. Smaller pieces of furniture can be dropped at our store in Mississauga.
How much time does it take to have my furniture upholstered in Toronto from time of pickup to time of delivery?
It takes only 2 to 3 weeks!
Do you offer to put furniture back in place once it has been upholstered when you deliver it?
When we deliver the furniture we will put them back in the place as per customer’s request.
What should I bring with me when I come to your upholstery store in Mississauga the 1st time?
Bring pictures, measurements, paint swatches or fabric samples if we need to find matching fabric, picture of the existing décor, and anything else that will help us visualize your space.
Do you also sell upholstery foam?
All our upholstery foams are the top quality. Prices depend on sheet size, density and thickness, you can choose from 1” to 7” or even thicker.
What kind of furniture upholstery options do you offer?
We can add pipping, double pipping, tufting, buttons, decorating nails, and any other request you may desire.
Can I choose outdoor fabric like Sunbrella for my indoor furniture reupholstery?
There are many types of Sunbrella fabric designs for different purposes. Upholstery Sunbrella fabric makes a wonderful indoor fabric for any room thanks to both its strength and beauty. Sunbrella is easy to care for and resists water and is easy to clean as long as you take care of dirt and food particles before they stain or become embedded in the fabric. So yes, you may choose Sunbrella fabric for your indoor furniture upholstery in Toronto.
